My Wonderful Nursery Rhyme Collection

My Wonderful Nursery Rhyme Collection

Okay, ready for a bold statement?  I am being completely serious when I say that this is hands-down the most beautiful nursery rhyme collection that I have ever seen!  It is absolutely gorgeous! Let’s start with the cover.  Not only is it beautiful and a super-extra thick hardcover, but it has cutouts!  Thats right, cutouts that show tidbits of illustrated nursery rhymes!  Then there are the incredible illustrations,  there are so many that tempt me to frame them.  The illustrations throughout the book are of several different styles which help keep this hefty book of 190 (that’s right, 190!!) pages interesting.

There are so many nursery rhymes packed in this book that it almost makes my head spin!  I was impressed with how many of them I recognized, but there were also a fair few that I didn’t know.  There is a table of contents to help you locate them and they are split into four different sections: Nursery Rhyme Songs, Action Nursery Rhymes, Animal Nursery Rhymes, and Nursery Rhyme Games.  Helpful right?!  I also love how at the end of the Action Nursery Rhymes section there are some simple quick instructions on what the actions are that go with the nursery rhyme.

This is definitely a book that will be treasured in our house for many years to come.  My toddler is in love with me reading/singing him the rhymes and also gives his stamp of approval.  And, quite honestly, its one I may pull off the shelf from time-to-time just so I can swoon over the typography and illustrations.
