“Peter Pan and Wendy” by JM Barrie and Debra McFarlane
It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Folio Society and their editions of classic novels. When it comes to celebrating literature through fidelity to the story and attention to lush details such as embossment and gorgeous endpapers, Folio Society is definitely an expert. I was so pleased when they agreed to send their edition of “Peter Pan and Wendy” my way upon inquiry and it was even more beautiful than I had hoped. (And my expectations were incredibly high!)
The fabric cover with silver embossed accents is divine, the larger format screams to be used as a read-aloud and the quality of the paper pages is luxurious. What won me over the most though is the illustrations! There are plenty of black and white ink sketches as well as about a dozen full color/full page illustrations throughout the story. They are simply stunning and really bring the story to life. It has me more excited than ever to read the original story for the first time!
So, if you are on the lookout for a special edition of this timeless story, I cannot recommend this edition enough! It is one to be passed down and enjoyed through generations.
