Anne of Green Gables & Anne of Avonlea

anne-of-green-gables

“Anne of Green Gables” and “Anne of Avonea” by L.M Montgomery, Introduced by Margaret Atwood, Illustrated by Anna C. Leplar

If I could be best friends with any fictional character from any book I would choose Anne hands-down, without a question.  She is imaginative, bold, creative, big-hearted, and not afraid to be herself.     I fell in love with her as a child when I read it for the first time with my mom.  I remember feeling like she and I had a lot in common and I knew I had found a kindred spirit.  Since then the story of Anne remains a comforting one in my life.

These editions of her story are absolutely beautiful and worthy of such a wonderful tale.  The covers are what initially drew me to them, aren’t they breath-taking?  I almost want to put up a small front-facing bookshelf in my room just so that I can stare at them all the time! The quality of the books themselves are everything that I have come to expect from Folio Society and the illustrations by Anna  C. Leplar really fit the feel of the story.  Definitely beautiful editions for any Anne fan, or someone who is waiting to be introduced to her.
