Beauty and the Beast Books

One of my favorite fictional bookworms of all time is Belle from “Beauty and the Best”.   She loves a great story and appreciates an incredible library.  Speaking of libraries, what about the one that the Beast gives her in the Disney version?  It makes me swoon with uncontrollable envy every time I see it.  I have been a huge fan of Belle’s ever since I was a child, and she even played a small part in my childhood book worm-ish-ness. (read about that here) Therefore, when I found out that Disney was doing a life-action movie I was beyond ecstatic.  I have watched each trailer that has been released about a million times and even went on a hunt for some bookish delights to prepare for the upcoming release.  So that is what I am sharing today.  Here are two beautiful picture book and two “chapter book” editions of this beloved story.  May they bring a smile to you other Belle fans that I know are out there!

“Beauty and the Beast” illustrated by Agnese Baruzzi–  This book is absolutely stunning!  It has gorgeous illustrations done in a beautiful modern style as well as full page illustrations done completely in the cut-out paper work that Agnese is known for.  This is seriously one that you will want to check out.   I was so excited at the turn of every page.

“Beauty and the Beast” retold by Cynthia Ryland and illustrated by Meg Park–  The retelling of this story as well as the illustrations are beautiful in this book.  All of it is completely enchanting and makes my disney-loving heart so happy.  I love how the illustrations add a touch of whimsy and I love the texture that Meg creates.   Also, just look at that cover!  Belle in the foreground, then the beast, and in the very back a majestic castle.  The perfect addition to a Belle book collection.

Beauty and the Beast: Belle’s Library: A collection of literary quotes and inspirational musings (Disney Beauty and the Beast)” by Brittany Rubiano and illustrated by Jenna Huerta– Oh this book.  It makes me giddy with delight.  I adore the styling of the book as a whole with its lovely cover, ribbon bookmark and daintily embellished pages as well as the idea of it.  It is a book full of literary quotes and across from each quote is a note supposedly written by Belle herself in regards to how she feels about it.  Amazing right?

“Beauty and the Beast Novelization (Disney)” by Elizabeth Rudnick– This, my dear friends, is the novelization of the upcoming film!  That’s right, the film!  It’s a little taste of what is to come in the movie production and I was SO excited to get a peek.  It filled my starvation for details on the movie and I am so much more excited to see it now than I was before.  They did a wonderful job with the story in this book and I am sure it will be even more magical in the movie with their star-studded cast and costuming.  I can hardly wait.
