Cardboard Craft Books

If your house is anything like mine you have cardboard aplenty!  I love to order things online and that always results in a lot of beautiful cardboard boxes!  The  other two most plentiful forms of extra cardboard we have are egg cartons (we love our bacon and egg breakfasts!) and lastly we have access to bunches of cardboard tubes.  These three new release books from Quarto are the perfect solution for those with tons of cardboard and a love for crafting!  We had a bunch of fun trying them out with our cardboard tubes.  My toddler made the octopus (with help) and I made the Flamingo.  Considering my lack of artistic talent I though they turned out great! Below is a brief overview of the books.

DIY Box Creations:  Fun and creative projects to make out of really big boxes:   This is a fun one!   It is perfect for large boxes that you may have around your home or can easily get.  There is just something magical about big boxes to little kids, I swear they can feel the potential they possess!  This book has simple step-by-step instructions with great photos (I love that they use actual photographys of the process instead of illustrations!)  to help turn cardboard boxes into wonderful things like airplanes, toy ovens, doll houses, and so much more!

51 Things to make from Egg Cartons and 51 Things to make from Cardboard Tubes by Fiona Hayes:  These creations made almost entirely from the cardboard and paint are exceptionally cute!  The step by step instructions are easy to follow and have simple accompanying images.  One of my favorite things about these books is each supply list is tiny!  You can make so many cute things with a few items you probably already have on hand.  Genius!  My little guy and I love them!
