Fairy Friends Primer Series by Merilee Liddiard
These books can be summed up in two words: absolutely darling! But if I had to choose some more I would go with: magical, delightful, whimsical and precious. They are a board book series that make beautiful little primers on basic topics. There is one for the seasons, as well as one for counting, opposites and colors.
Each page features one or more stunning little fairies. They are wearing the most delicate dresses made out of flower petals and leaves and are placed in lovely scenes with natural items surrounding them. The colors primer, for example, associates each color with a flower. Then each spread is done mostly in that color to make it a visual masterpiece. These books are sparse on text and heavy on creativity and imagination in the illustrations.
The simple text and bright colors make them perfect for little fairy fans everywhere. I am so in love with these little books that I am already anxious to see what Merilee comes up with next. I will be first in line vying for a copy!
