Hans Andersen’s Fairy Tales and Grimm’s Fairy Tales from Folio Society

“Hans Andersen’s Fairy Tales” by Hans Christian Andersen and illustrated by W. Heath Robinson-  This gorgeous edition is perfect in every tiny little detail.  The cover is linen with gold foil embellishments and features both black and white as well as color illustrations scattered throughout.  The illustrations are the original ones done by W. Heath Robinson back in 1897 and are regal and majestic.   There are 17 tales included such as “The Little Mermaid” and “The Ugly Duckling”.

“Grimm’s Fairy Tales” by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm illustrated by Arthur Rackam- This edition is reminiscent of a British edition that was published in 1909 and is absolutely stunning.  It also has a linen cover with gold foil embellishments and features black and white illustrations as well as colored.  There are 60 stories in this edition that include favorites such as  “Red Riding Hood” and “Snow White.”

True to form for all Folio Society editions, these books are absolutely stunning and make beautiful collectors pieces.  Every little detail in their design is not only luxurious, but well thought out.  The integrity of the stories are honored and their magic is celebrated.  I am thrilled to have these in my collection!
