Harry Potter A Journey Through A History of Magic

“Harry Potter: a Journey Through a History of Magic” (Scholastic; Arthur A. Levine Books)

Did you know that right now there is an exhibition in London titled Harry Potter: A History of Magic?!  It opened October, 2017 and is still currently running.  In it are rare books, manuscripts and objects that pay homage to our world’s “history of magic” and the development of Harry Potter.  When I found out I was excited, but a bit downhearted because London is too far for me to travel right now.  However, I soon found out that the exhibit will be coming to the US (New York) in October of 2018!!  This date is extra special because 2018 also marks the 20 year anniversary for the publication of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone”.

This beautiful book is a companion guide to the exhibit that shares sneak peaks and tidbits of information that you can expect to find and learn from the displays.  Included are illustrations by the wonderful Jim Kay, scans of original documents such as a Hogwarts grounds map and first draft selections from JK Rowling, photos of rare “magical” items and so much more.  I’m really enjoying my perusal of this book and I cannot wait for the exhibit to hit the US.  This book is a definite must for all avid Harry Potter Fans and magical prodigies.
