“Sharing snack time with a new friend is a real treat!”

Lucy & Company by Marianne Dubuc

Childhood is magical!  I think that is partly because children are so full of curiosity and wonder and they take pleasure in the simplest things that can sometimes be taken for granted.  This is a book that beautifully captures the simplicity and beauty of childhood and it’s everyday adventures.  When I read it, it brings back memories of my own childhood and I cannot help but smile.

It is a picture book that includes three mini stories about Lucy and her friends.  The first one is where they share a special snack and make new friend.  In the second they go on a scavenger hunt and celebrate an important birthday.  And the third is where they help find a home for some new little chicks.  The text is short and sweet and each of these “stories” is more like a snapshot of a lovely memory.  I adore this book in its perfect simplicity and charming illustrations.  It is one that you can read over and over again! It comes out  Fall 2016 from Kids Can Press.
