Professor Astro Cat’s Intergalactic Activity Book

activity book

Professor Astro Cat’s Intergalactic Activity Book by Zelda Turner and Ben Newman

Professor Astro Cat is back and we couldn’t be more excited!  His other two books are fantastic at teaching all kinds of science facts and this third book in the series is a bit different; it is an activity book.  That’s right, and activity book!  Awesome idea, huh?!

Though an activity book, the paperback binding is a nice, thick quality paper and the pages inside are wonderfully sturdy.  It really is beautiful!  It is full of fun activities that include simple, mini science experiments as well as written activities such as drawing your own constellation and decoding.  It is also split into four sections: Cadet Training, Watching the Skies, Rocket Science and Space Missions.  Don’t even just the titles sound like fun?  It isn’t just about scientific facts though, there is a lot of room for creativity.  For example, on of the activities asks your child to draw a picture of the moment they would leave on the moon to show that they were there if they visited.  What a great prompt to get your child’s creative juices flowing.

The book is filled with the same illustrations that you love in the first two Astro Cat books as Astro and his mouse are your guide all along your journey.  All the iconic Astro Cat talk bubbles and bright pops of intergalactic-ally awesome colors are ever-present.  This is a book that can keep your curious little ones entertained and learning for hours.   It is perfect to help put the information learned in the first two books to-the-test with a little application and hands on experience.  I would definitely say it exceeded my high expectations.
