  • Yield: 24 cupcakes
  • Category: Cupcakes

Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup crushed Whopper candies (or other chocolate malt candy)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate malted milk powder
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt

Frosting

  • 12 ounces cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup coco powder
  • 1/3 cup chocolate malted milk powder
  • 1/2 cup crushed Whopper candies

Topping

  • extra Whoppers for topping (if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. In a large bowl mix together cake mix, whole milk, eggs, vegetable oil, crushed Whopper candies, malted milk powder, and plain greek yogurt. Mix on medium speed for 2 minutes. Scoop into cupcake liners about 2/3 full and bake for 14-16 minutes until toothpick comes up clean from the center.
  3. After cupcakes have cooled make the frosting. Cream together the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. (Take your time beating.) Then add the coco powder and malted milk powder and gradually mix in the powdered sugar and crushed Whopper candies until desired consistency.
  4. Pipe or spread frosting on cupcakes and garnish with extra Whopper candy and 1/3 of a paper straw if desired.
