This Is My Book

this is my book

This Is My Book! By Mark Pett (and no one else)

Are you ready for this one?!  Because it is heaps of fun!  It is one that will have you so excited to turn each and every page to see what happens next.  Mark packs in that many surprises.  It starts with a clean white page with just the author/illustrator on it it introducing himself and how books are made.  Then he draws his first illustration: a panda bear.  However, this panda bear has a mind of his own and a big imagination.  He has some touches he wants to add to the book.  Like flaps, and pull tabs and even a pop-up page!  (All of these elements which are actually included in the book!)

The author character and the illustrations are at odds at first, and address each other as they argue.  However, to make it even more fun, they address the reader as well! It really is quite the experience!  In the end the “author” realizes that books do not just belong to authors, they belong to the readers and even the illustrations as well.  With this realization the author character and the illustrations decide to work together to make a book and even invite you too!  That’s right!  And with a super-duper fun surprise included in a pocket at the endpapers of this book your child really can “get to it!”

This is one you won’t want to miss.  Seriously, I promise you’ll love it!
